Our MILO Fantails enjoyed an unforgettable matchday experience last month, taking to the pitch as ball girls for the Auckland United FC vs Southern United clash in the Dettol National Women’s League Championship, driven by Ford, at Keith Hay Park.

As well as walking out alongside New Zealand’s top women’s footballers, the Fantails had the incredible opportunity to play halftime games in front of a lively home crowd — a special moment that brought big smiles, boosted confidence, and made the day even more memorable.

Watching the match up close from the sidelines, the girls were able to see their role models in action, gaining inspiration from the speed, skill, and intensity of the women’s game. To cap off a fantastic day, Auckland United FC’s Premier Women secured a 2–0 win over a strong Southern United side, making it a matchday to remember both on and off the pitch.

Experiences like these are at the heart of the MILO Fantails programme, helping young players build confidence, make friends, and feel connected to the club and the wider football pathway.

About our MILO Fantails Programme:

The MILO Fantails programme is a girls-only football initiative led by female coaches, designed to introduce young players to the game in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. With beginner groups and pre-season warm-up options available, the programme focuses on building confidence, developing core football skills, and creating positive experiences both on and off the pitch.

MILO Fantails is about more than football — it’s a place where girls can make new friends, feel part of the club, and be inspired by strong female role models while discovering their love for the game.
