Background to the Auckland United Talent Centre
- Academy Programme
Auckland United FC was formed in 2020 with the amalgamation of Onehunga Sports FC and Three Kings United. At the same time, the successful Wellington Phoenix Soccer School was rebranded as Auckland United Academy and remained under the directorship of Miya (Hiroshi Miyazawa) and Jo Dawkins.
The Academy programme is based on 20 years of experience as a leading football development programme across New Zealand and has produced more than 50 New Zealand Representatives from U17 to All Whites as well as a multitude of players who have signed professional contracts with notable clubs from overseas.
The Auckland United Talent Centre has been launched as an incorporation of the Academy and Development Programmes under the one umbrella
and to provide a clearer pathway for aspirational and committed junior and youth players.
Our ultimate goal is to help develop world-class footballers and world-class people.
We have established a development program and pathway that will not only inspire and support the dreams of our young players but also ensure they will be successful in whatever they choose to pursue in life.
