Auckland United FC squad announced for OFC Women’s Champions League

AUFC Premier Women’s opening match vs Labasa Women FC kicks off Tuesday 12 March at 5:00pm NZT live on FIFA+

Auckland United FC is delighted to announce our Premier Women’s squad for the upcoming OFC Women’s Champions League tournament, kicking off in Honiara, Solomon Islands on Tuesday 12 March.

A first for an NZ team, we couldn’t be more proud of the work that has gone on behind the scenes to get the team to Honiara, and now we just can’t wait to see the squad go up against some of the best clubs in the wider region!

The best part yet - every game will be streamed Live and On-Demand on FIFA+ so we needn’t miss a minute of the action, dates and kickoff times as below:

Head coach Ben Bate has assembled an exciting and youthful group for the tournament made up largely of squad that claimed the NZ National League Championship title at the end of last season, and said:

“We are hoping to do the country proud and go deep into the tournament. The team acknowledges the challenges ahead, including potential climate-related obstacles and an element of the unknown within the competition.

“Being the first New Zealand team to be able to attend the competition is a matter of great pride for the club and a lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to enable us to be able to attend. However, with past experience in qualifiers for several of the players we view these challenges as opportunities for the team to bond.

“It’s a great opportunity for us as a team to face and overcome these challenges together. The team features a mix of experience and youthful energy with eight players 18 and under from the 18-player squad,” said Bate.

And now, without further ado, your Auckland United FC Premier Women’s squad for the 2024 OFC Women’s Champions League…
