Auckland United FC Premier Men’s New Signings for 2024

Charlie Beale joins Auckland United after a couple of seasons with the Wellington Phoenix Reserves. We’re really excited to have Charlie on board and can’t wait to see him out on the pitch in AUFC colours soon.

Age: 20 years

Position: Midfield

Career Highlight?

“Scoring a goal for my country on my starting debut.” - U19 OFC

Why Auckland United?

“After playing against AU previously, I’ve admired the way the team plays. With a focus on building out and retaining possession, it’s an attractive and positive brand of football that I wanted to be a part of.”

Objectives for the season ahead?

“I’d love to help the team win the Northern League season. I think it’s very in our rights to do so. What’s building around the club is exciting and I think we can no doubt challenge for the title.”

Boyd Curry

Age: 22 years

Position: Defender

1st Team Appearances: 11

Boyd Curry is returning to Auckland United FC in 2024 after he last played for the club in 2021 before heading to Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga, California, then on to the Portland Pilots. Boyd is another fantastic addition to the squad and we are thrilled to have him back!

Career Highlight?

“Playing for New Zealand at the U-17 World Cup and winning the U-19 Oceania Qualifiers.”

Why back to Auckland United?

Saw it as a great opportunity to further my footballing career and be apart of a new setup here with Jose which looks promising and excites me!”

Objectives for the season ahead?

“Continue to grow my career and help lead this young and exciting team to success both on and off the field. Help the club in any way I can!”

Oliver Fay

Oli Fay, another former AUFC Academy & First Team player also returns to Auckland United for the upcoming season after stint with Swedish club Ljungskile SK in 2023. Welcome back Oli!

Position: Attacker

Career Highlight?

"Going to the U20 World Cup and being able to make an appearance against Argentina in front of a crowd of 30,000 people."

Why back to Auckland United?

“Because I’ve really enjoyed my time here at the club previously and believe it has a professional environment and is a great place to develop.”

Objectives for the season ahead?

“To win as many games as possible and to make the National League Championship. Also because we have such a young team this year, personally i would like to take up a more senior / leader role within the squad.”

Nathan Garrow is yet another exciting young talent and joins Auckland United from Bay Olympic. Welcome aboard Nathan!

Age: 19 years

Position: Goalkeeper

Career Highlight?

“Getting to play in tournaments in Japan, China and South Korea.”

Why Auckland United?

“It’s a step forward in my development with help from an exceptional GK coach Isaac, and a football style I hope to succeed with.”

Objectives for the season ahead?

“Be a consistent player and progress my football quality and intelligence.”

Josh Tollervey

Age: 20 years

Position: Attacker

Career Highlight?

“Scoring a 10 minute hatrick against Miramar.”

Why Auckland United?

“It’s a great club and a super professional environment and fantastic facilities which is perfect for a young player like myself to further my footballing ability. Also another big reason is how José wants to play and the fact he really wants to push young players through the club.”

Objective for the season?

“Win the league and get golden boot.”

Age: 19 years old

Position: Midfield

Career Highlight?

“The best highlight of my football journey so far would have to representing New Zealand at the 2023 U-20 World Cup in Argentina. Scoring against Ecuador in a pre tournament friendly was a big achievement for me at first. To then do it against Uzbekistan on the world stage with family and friends watching was an unreal experience!”

Why Auckland United?

“I chose Auckland United because they are an up and coming exciting club and with the new players joining this season along side me I’m looking forward to contributing towards winning games and scoring goals. The staff are also very supportive to help me achieve my goals this year.”

Objectives for the season ahead?

“My objectives are to help the team and the club as much as I can to succeed.  And lastly the facility’s at the club are brilliant to be in amongst.”
